I know you're all patiently waiting for me to release Mouth to Mic Resuscitation. However, recording has been put on hold. I have decided to change my approach and to work towards longevity in music instead of putting out mixtapes whenever I've got some cash. I am working on a home studio and it is planned to be finished early 2012. I'm sorry for the wait, but it will be worth it. Hang in there with me and feel free to ask any questions you have.
I'm gonna make this blog short. Success isn't determined on airplay and a record deal. Even though they are nice and everyone wants them, success is an abstract word. Everyone has their own definition of success. If you're following your dream, if your writing to beats then you are a success of your own. However, I'll give you a couple of tips. When you write a rap that you want to record the easiest way to do this is to write specifically to the beat. There are 3 things to listen for when you write to it, apart from seperating the hook from the verses. There is the Claps, Bass, and Melody. The easiest of these to notice is the Claps. It's the end of a line or a rhyme. However, to flow you've got to write to each of these. For delivery you have to become the beat. Remember the mic is an instrument you have to learn to use properly. You don't make the music, YOU ARE THE MUSIC. You have to come in to the beat with the same energy of the beat and you have to inflect your voice properly so you aren't monotoned. It takes years to perfect this though. This is all things I wish I knew when I had started out so I am passing it on to you. And to all my fans thank you for being there.
"Happiness is a choice, you just gotta use ya voice" -epitoME This is officially my first blog. Add comments of what you think or topics you'd like to hear me talk about. I will post a new blog at least once a week. With my first post I would like to mainly list people I am thankful for.
Mom-You have been there for me since day one. You always did what was in your power to get me what I needed and some of my wants. You always put a roof over my head and a meal on the table. I love you, Mom! Sarah-You are the love of my life. Thank you for giving me what I didn't know existed and for supporting me, even though you don't love this genre of music as much as I do. Phillip-Thank you for being there for me since the day you entered my life. Thank you for finding my mom and loving her. Grandparents-Thank you for supporting me and my mom whenever we needed it or didn't. My life would have been worse without you in it. I don't know how it would've turned out. God-Thank you for giving me life and allowing me to continue it each day. Thank you for the people you've placed in my life, the gifts you've given me, and the opportunites laid out in front of me. Eminem, Novi Novak, TI, Biggie, and other rappers-Thank you for inspiring me to follow in your footsteps and paint a picture with my words and be a lyrical genius. Friends & Family-I thank the rest of you for supporting me. Last and not least, The Fans-Thank you for supporting me. Thank you for believing in me and waiting for my mixtape. Each and everyone of you make this possible and have a role in my path down this road.
